Lena N. Case, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Wednesday morning March 28, 2018 at Novant Medical Health Center, Winston-Salem, NC.
Born on June 24, 1937 in the town of Alexandria, NY, she was a daughter of George J. and Esther M. Robinson Norton. In 1955 she graduated from Theresa High School and from the House of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1958.
Lena married Frederick E. Case on July 31, 1958 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown, NY, with the Rev. Benoit C. Dostie, officiating.
She was a registered nurse at the former Mercy Hospital and later Genesis Nursing Home, Watertown, NY, retiring in 1999, after 35 years of service.
Lena enjoyed crocheting and reading. Since retiring the couple has resided in Winston-Salem, NC.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Frederick; three sons, Matthew J. Case, Penn Yan, NY, Mark W. Case and Eric S. Case, both of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Cindy and Jeffrey Martin, Winston-Salem, NC, Tina and Robert LaMarche II, Dexter, NY; three granddaughters; three great-grandsons; one sister, Isla Proven, Depauville, NY.
Her parents, four brothers, Kenneth Norton, Harold Norton, Paul Norton, William Norton, four sisters, Betty Jean Proven, Vera Norton, Ruth Lester and Iva Storie all died previously.
There will be a graveside service in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, NY, later in the year. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
