Charlene Calhoun, 72, of Co. Rt. 18, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at home.
Born on September 7, 1945 in Marvell, AR, she was a daughter of Charlie and Eula Jackson Thomas and attended schools in Arkansas.
She married Thelbert R. Calhoun on August 3, 1985 in Junction City, KS.
Charlene was a nurse's aide in Topeka, KS and worked at Tony's Pizza, Salina, KS. She most recently worked as a cook supervisor at AAFES, Ft. Drum and was owner and operator of Calhoun Cleaning Service for many years.
She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking, fishing and raising her family.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Thelbert; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Panama, Evans Mills, NY; five grandchildren, Dion Thomas, Tre Thomas and Lakesha Givian, all of Theresa, NY, Renee Thomas and Michael Thomas, Topeka, KS; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, two sons, Troy Thomas and James Thomas, a daughter, Dorothy Jean Thomas, two brothers, Michael Charles Thomas and David Thomas and a sister, Joyce Thomas all died previously.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Pastor Willie Calhoun, officiating (Charlene's brother-in-law).
Calling hours will be 5-7 pm Friday, March 16, 2018 at the funeral home.
