Obituary of Charlotte Hall
Charlotte A. Hall, 86, formerly of North Main Street, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
Born on August 24, 1931 in Champion, NY, daughter of the late Frederick and Amelda Shannon Staie. She attended Evans Mills High School and was in the class of 1949.
She previously worked for the Hazel Jewett Insurance Agency and Borden's Co., both located in Evans Mills and later for the Indian River School District, Evans Mills Branch where she was a secretary to the principal. After 37 years she retired July 1, 1994. She also taught night classes at BOCES for 10 years.
On February 14, 1953 she married Richard J. Hall at St. Mary's Rectory, Evans Mills with Rev. Henry McFadder officiating. Mr. Hall died November 6, 2010.
She was past president of CSEA, founding board member of the Northern Federal Credit Union, President of the Jefferson County Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, from 2002-2004 she was President of the NYS Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary and she was a trustee and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hall enjoyed boating, swimming, knitting, cake decorating, traveling and spending time at Lake Bonaparte with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law, James R. and Karen Hall, Beaver Falls, NY, Michael John F. and Mary Hall, Carthage, NY, Thomas S. and Suzanne Hall, Sarasota, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary A. Delles, Evans Mills, NY and Susanne and John Bush, Croghan, NY; five grandchildren, Taylor Hall, Sarasota, FL and Kendall Hall, Atlanta, GA, Michael Robert Hall, Carthage, NY, Nicole Hall, Rochester, NY, Alexander Hall, Watertown, NY; a sister-in-law, Donna Staie, Carthage, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, her husband Richard, two sisters, Gladys Adams and Florence McCormick, a brother, Joseph Staie, a sister-in-law, Joan Clark and two brothers-in-law, Charles Clark and Benjamin Delles all died before her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Evans Mills, NY with Rev. Christopher Looby, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Evans Mills, NY in the spring. There will be a gathering at St. Mary's Parish Center immediately following services.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
