Ida G. Hunneyman, 90, of County Rt. 9, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2018 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, N.Y. after a short illness.
Born on July 19, 1927 in Theresa, N.Y., she was a daughter of Daniel and Mildred DeYoung Desormeau and graduated Theresa High School in 1943 at the age of 16.
Ida married the late Lynn Hunneyman.
After high school Ida worked as a waitress for most of her life in the Theresa-Alexandria Bay area. For many years she co-owned and operated Cedar Grove Green House on County Rt. 9, Clayton with her companion.
She was an avid traveler that enjoyed traveling north into Canada and into the Southern United States.
Survivors include her companion of 50 years Lewis Cheever; three sons and their wives, Dean and Patricia of Redwood, Dale and Gayle of Alexandria Bay, Jerry and Terri of Plessis; two daughters and their husbands, Jan and John Cain of Dexter, Monique and Timothy Skelly of Ogdensburg; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three sons, Brent, Barry, Randy and two brothers, Gerald Desormeau and Douglas Desormeau died previously.
There will be no services per Ida's wishes.
