Ted R. Narrow, 68, of Co. Rt. 181, died Wednesday November 8, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY.
Born on December 17, 1948 in Watertown, NY, he was a son of James and Barbara Hoyt Narrow and a 1967 graduate of LaFargeville High School. After high school he earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the College of Artesia in 1971 and then a Masters in Teaching degree from SUNY Geneseo.
In 1978, Ted moved to Alaska to teach primary school at Fort Yukon, Alaska. During his 20 year career in Alaska he also worked at various school including Venetie and 49 Mile.
Ted was a member of the Philadelphia Masonic Lodge #916 and past member of the Theresa Masonic Lodge #174. He was also a board member of Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventure, Massena, NY.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitars and telling stories of Alaskan adventures.
Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Ann Narrow, LaFargeville, NY and Shawn Narrow, Oswego, NY; two nephews, Adam Narrow and wife Kate, Manhattan, Kansas and Wade Narrow, Rochester, NY; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His parents, James and Barbara died before him.
Memorial Services will be 2 pm Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Methodist Minister, Rev. Frederica Webb, officiating. There will also be a Masonic Service. Family and friends will gather at the LaFargeville American Legion following services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood, NY at a later date.
A calling hour will be from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
