Arthur H. Pierce, 89 of Limestone Road died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, NY.
Born January 27, 1928, he was a son of Howard W. and Bessie Edgerly Pierce and graduated from Redwood High School in 1946.
He served in the United States Army from January 1946 to July 1947 and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Pierce was a machinist at Black Clawson, Watertown, NY for a time and was a Union Carpenter for 37 years.
He was a 40 year member of the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
Mr. Pierce enjoyed history, wood working, and making custom guitars. He was also an avid reader.
Survivors include three children; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Tracy and Jeanne Pierce, Liverpool, NY, Chris and Joyce Pierce, Kirkwood, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Jason Dunn, Dexter, NY; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Pierce, Tracy John Pierce, Alexander Pierce, Tracey Lawrence Pierce, Marie Lynn Battisti, twins, Joshua Durant and Jorden Durant, Danielle Durant, Christian Boice, Jeremiah Dunn and Jonah Dunn; several great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents a son, Lacy David Pierce and a sister Jean Tusler died before him.
The funeral will be 7:30 pm Friday September 8, 2017 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Rev. Frederica Webb, officiating.
A calling hour will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm prior to the funeral.
