Obituary of Howard G. Brinson
ANTWERP
Howard G. Brinson, Jr., 56, of Main Street, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Upstate University Medical Center, Syracuse after an epic battle with mesothelioma. He continues to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
Born March 3, 1955 in Somerset, KY, he was the son of Howard G. and Edith V. Hardwick Brinson and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst, OH in 1973.
He entered the United States Navy in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1975.
He married Michele Spadaccini on July 4, 1987. A previous marriage to Gerri Plato ended in divorce.
Mr. Brinson was an architectural designer draftsman, employed with GYMO Watertown, was self employed, a Jefferson County Building Code Enforcement Officer and owner of Musicology in Watertown.
A member of numerous bands, he enjoyed playing music, hiking, camping and traveling.
Howard will be greatly missed by his wife Shelly, two daughters and their husbands, Megan and Brice Wilson Amherst, OH and Abbie and Zak Woodruff, Bowling Green, OH, two sons, Jason, Cincinnati, OH and Ian, Watertown; two grandchildren, Aurora and Mort Wilson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Chuck and Angela, Amherst, OH and Tim Martuzas, Watertown; a sister and her husband, Gwen and John Pittman, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and a wonderful community of family and friends.
Besides his parents a sister, Linda Westall died before him.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
