Arlene M. Parker, 87, of Co. Rt. 136, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY.
Born on October 25, 1930 in Watertown, NY, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Hattie Neuroth Zimmer and graduated from Alexandria Bay High School.
Arlene married George A. Parker on March 14, 1949 at the Bethany Methodist Parsonage in Watertown, NY. The couple moved to Southern California in 1953 and returned to Theresa, NY in 1965 where they owned and operated A&G Plumbing and Heating, retiring in the mid-1980's and then operated Sand Hill Nursery and Greenhouses, both in Theresa, NY. In 1992 they moved to Wilder Rd., LaFargeville, NY. Mr. Parker died April 24, 2004 and after his death she moved back to Theresa, NY to live with her daughter, Susan.
She loved quilting, jumble puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Louie Johndrow, Homestead, FL and LaFargeville, NY, Susan and James Hoover, Theresa, NY, Stephanie and Michael Robinson, LaFargeville, NY; two sons, Ralph Parker, address unknown, Dean Parker, Watertown, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Diana Zimmer, Redwood, NY; two sisters, Leona Smith, Gouverneur, NY and Delores Cross, Hickory, NC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services will be 7:30 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Rev. Donald Robinson, officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Depauville Cemetery.
