Christine M. Maltby, 90, formerly of State Rt. 180, died Thursday evening, December 14, 2017 at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, NY, where she has been a resident since 2014.
Born on April 5, 1927 in Neidpath, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was a daughter of Edmund and Annie White Parker and she attended Adams Center schools.
Christine married Lavern Maltby of Adams Center, NY on September 1, 1945 at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Adams Center, NY.
The couple moved to LaFargeville, NY to work on the Henry farm, eventually they purchased the farm and continued operation of it until fire destroyed the barn in the late 1970's. Christine also worked in housekeeping at the Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, NY for many years until retiring in the late 1980's.
Survivors include her husband, Lavern, Watertown, NY; three daughters, Marie Clark, Louise Thompson, Torrie Danks and her husband Darwin, all of Watertown, NY; a close friend who was like a son, Kevin Kelsey, Arizona; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Isabelle Hyde, LaFargeville, NY
Her parents, three brothers, Wellington Parker, James Parker, Douglas Parker and a sister, Louella Cobb all died before her.
Private Graveside Services will be in Grove Cemetery, LaFargeville, NY. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
